I have sent you a request but have not received a reply?

Due to the high volume of requests we receive on a daily basis it can take 24-48 hours for us to get back to you. If you want to make sure we received your email please contact our customer service department at 0814-746-2241 or 0708-256-9695. You should also check your spam/junk mail folder ☺.

I have tried calling you but you are not picking my calls?

Our business hours are Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Calls placed outside of these hours will be returned on the next business day.

It has been more than two business days since I sent my request why haven’t I received a reply?

Priority is given to requests that include Sigma-Aldrich product codes. Whenever you make an inquiry please include the Sigma-Aldrich product code for the items you are interested in. If you do not have a product code then please include the product name, CAS number if available, the intended use of the product as well as the required quantity required. You should also check your spam/junk mail folder ☺.

Why do you need my full contact details?

All clients are required to provide full contact details when requesting a quotation. Some of this information is needed in case we need to get in touch with you or so we can calculate delivery costs. Also we simply like to know whom we are dealing with ☺.

Yes of course! Our technical team is available to assist you in your product selection. Why is the price different from the one I have found on the Sigma-Aldrich website?

The prices found online are not valid for Nigeria. Prices listed on the Sigma-Aldrich Export Website are exclusive of handling, export documentation, air-freight, import documentation, custom clearance and local delivery among others. Why are Sigma-Aldrich products expensive?

Expensive is relative to what you are comparing to. Sigma-Aldrich is a leading Life Science and High Technology company whose products are synonymous with high quality chemicals. Most of our products are high grade analatycal chemicals that are meant for laboratory use.

Is my quotation still valid?

Your quotation has a validity date printed on the bottom left corner of the first page. If that date has not yet elapsed, you can go ahead and make payment. If it has elapsed, please request another quotation from our sales team by email at orders@bristolscientific.com or use the contact form here.

How do I make a payment?

Our bank details can be found on the second page of every quotation sent. You can make a cash deposit, check deposit, ATM or internet transfer to the listed UBA account from anywhere in Nigeria.

If I pay today when will I receive my products?

BSC places an order with Sigma-Aldrich every three weeks. It takes 4-6 weeks from the deadline date following your order placement to receive the goods. The 2015 Order Deadline Calendar can be found here.

If I pay today will my order be included in the current deadline shipment?

As long as you make your payment prior to close of business on the deadline day your order will be included in the next shipment. If you make your payment after the deadline date your order will be included in the following shipment.

Why does the delivery period take so long?

In order to keep our prices as low as possible BSC consolidates all its customers’ orders into one bulk shipment every three weeks. This allows us to keep shipping and clearing costs at an acceptable level.

But I need my products urgently what can I do?

BSC offers its customers an Express Shipment option. For an additional N32,500 your goods will be shipped on their own and you will receive them within 2 weeks of palcing your order.

That’s expensive are there any other options?

BSC has introduced the BSC EXPRESS CLUB™ which allows you to make anywhere up to 16 Express Shipments during the course of 12 months for a one time membership fee of N45,000. Learn more about the BSC EXPRESS CLUB™ here.

Why can’t my product(s) be shipped by Express Shipment?

Not all goods can be shipped Express. Most of the time this is because the goods are hazardous and have special handling or shipping requirements. Ask a member of the BSC sales team if your products are eligible for Express Shipment.

What do you mean by “Availability TBD”?

You may find Availabilty TBD in the comments section of your quotation. TBD stands for “To Be Determined.” This means that Sigma-Aldrich currently does not have this product in stock in their German export warehouse and we are awaiting feedback on its availability in Germany. Once we know we will update you with an accurate availability date.

What do you mean by “Additional 4-6 weeks required”?

If you find the above in your comments section it means that the product in question is currently not available in the Sigma-Aldrich German export warehouse. If ordered this item would be expected to arrive with the following order deadline shipment. Our order calendar can be found here.

What do you mean by “Export Permit required”?

Certain chemicals require a special Export License to be exported from the European Union. Applying for such a License requires additional time. If ordered these item would be expected to arrive with the following order deadline shipment. Our order calendar can be found here.

What do you mean by “Export Forbidden”?

Certain chemicals are banned for export from the European Union due to international regulations. Unfortunately when this is the case we are unable to procure this product. An alternative item that is not banned for export may be available but most often this is not the case.

The deadline day has passed do I have to wait till the next deadline to make payment?

The sooner you place your order the quicker it will get to you. Stock levels at Sigma-Aldrich’s export warehouse change on a daily basis therefore availability dates are only guaranteed at the time of quoting. Once you place your order, your items will be reserved and will be ready to come with the next order shipment. If an item requires an additional 4-6 weeks it is recommended to order this item as soon as possible so that it can be available for one of our upcoming shipments. The same applies for any item requiring special export documentation.

I ordered the wrong product what can I do?

Every Sigma-Aldrich product has a unique product code which can be used to find information about the product. It is your responsibility to make sure that the product quoted to you is appropriate for your requirements. Learn how to search for products on the Sigma-Aldrich website here.

What are your payment terms?

BSC requires you to pay in full for your goods prior to placing your order.

What is the mode of delivery?

Our standard mode of delivery is via motorpark. DHL delivery is also available for an additional fee. Within Lagos State we offer courier delivery for a minimal fee. You may also pick up from our offices located in Apapa, Lagos.

Can I request a discount?

As a general rule BSC does not offer discounts. If you would like to place a large volume order or are interested in becoming a reseller, please contact the BSC sales team at orders@bristolscientific.com

Why can’t you send me your price by SMS?

BSC company policy requires us to communicate all prices in the form of an official quotation on company letterhead. BSC staff are unable to make exceptions to this rule.

Can you send me your catalog?

Sigma-Aldrich is moving towards digital catalogs. You may request that a catalog be sent to you in a PDF format or you may download them directly from our website here-->. The Aldrich handbook can also be downloaded as a mobile app here. However due to daily adding and discontinuing of products the most reliable and up to date list of products can be found on the Sigma-Aldrich website which can be browsed here.
